David Paulson, MD

David Paulson, MD, is a psychiatrist and a founding practitioner at Alliance Behavioral Psychiatry in Orem and Lehi, Utah. He strives to establish strong connections with his patients in order to provide reliable, high-quality care. 

With in-person appointments and telepsychiatry, he provides attentive assessments, treatments, and individualized follow-ups. 

Dr. Paulson graduated from Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah, with a bachelor’s degree in biochemistry. He then attended medical school at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City, Utah, where he was a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. He remained at the University of Utah for his general psychiatry residency and was chief resident. 

At Alliance Behavioral Psychiatry, Dr. Paulson specializes in diagnosing and treating those 16 years and older for mood disorders like bipolar disorder and depression, as well as anxiety disorders like panic disorders, OCD, PTSD, phobias, and generalized anxiety. He also treats ADHD, sleep disorders, adjustment issues, relationship issues, and substance abuse. 

Dr. Paulson offers individualized care plans with a combination of medication management and psychotherapy. He also offers pharmacogenetic testing at his practice to evaluate the ways in which certain medications will interact with a person’s body according to their genetics.
