Joel Covington, APRN, PMHNP-BC

Joel Covington, DNP, APRN, PMHNP-BC, is a board-certified psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioner at Alliance Behavioral Psychiatry, which has locations in Orem and Lehi, Utah. Joel works closely with new and returning adult clients, both in-person and through telepsychiatry.

Joel provides psychiatric medication management and psychotherapy. He uses principles of acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT). 

Joel diagnoses and treats those who are 18 years or older for various mood disorders, including bipolar, depression, anxiety, panic, post-traumatic, obsessive-compulsive, and attention-deficit disorder.

Joel’s experience in psychiatric-mental health nursing spans nearly two decades. He completed his Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP), Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), and Bachelor of Science (BS) in Psychology at the University of Utah.

Joel strives to provide every client with a safe, inclusive, and judgment-free environment. He is familiar with mental health issues affecting LGBTQ+ people and welcomes those of the LGBTQ+ community.
